DESCRIPTION: My buddy, a climbing partner, and I sat down to breakfast at this quirky, and great cafe. We both braved the whole grain pancakes, me the blueberry, he the sweet potato. Oh my god, the size!! A whole stack is 3 (count them 3) completetly huge cakes spilling over the sides. Syrup? A definite yes!! On the weekends, during the season April - October, the place is packed with boaters, rafters, climbers, hikers, locals, etc. Everyone loves this place. The owner, Wendy, I think, is always there and always smiling. I think she was a raft guide before owning the cafe. The prices are very reasonable compared with other parts of the country. Fayetteville Residents Like it Too!
DESCRIPTION: I live in Fayetteville and the Cathedrial Cafe is my breakfast stop nearly every morning. The $5.10 (pronounced Five Ten) is great. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and potatos. Get cheese on your potatos. The coffee is wonderful. Lunch is great too. They make an awesome reuben sandwich.

Elkins' Shoney's Disappoints
DESCRIPTION: Shoney's in Elkins, West Virginia needs a few breakfast bar tips. Grits need a certain amount of time of thorough cooking, or else they're raw. The fact that they're stirred up with water and heated doesn't render them edible. Don't leave old pancakes on the bar. These are the ones that are hard around the edges and dry in the center. THe pancakes strongly resembled the dry, hard, cold, greasy french toast sticks that were also on the bar. The "french toast" that wasn't in stick form was stale, cold, underseasoned and inedible. Your scrambled eggs were dry, too. My family visited for breakfast at 8:00 a.m., so there should have been no excuse for food being in this condition at this hour of the morning. You also need to know that people like grape jelly. The only jellies available were apple cinnamon and honey (not really a jelly!). Next time I'm in Elkins for business or recreational purposes, I'll dine elsewhere.

DESCRIPTION: I've been visiting Jim's since I was a baby -- I'm 26 now -- and even though I now live in DC, I visit Jim's as often as I can. The food is nothing fancy, but it tastes GREAT, and one price includes your spaghetti, salad, bread, and tea/coffee. Jim has operated that diner since the 1930's, and he has hung all sorts of memorabilia on the walls -- evidence of all the famous people who have eaten at Jim's (including JFK). Overall, it's a charming local diner with tasty food and good service.

DESCRIPTION: I sort of grew up with Jim's Steak House. I began eating there shortly after high school graduation and continued on for the next thirty years. When we moved to Virginia in 1988, the experience I missed the most was a lunch or dinner at Jim's. His Food Manager, Bunny, was a hard worker and he and Jim were great organizers. Corporations have been known to bring their customers to Jim's to illustrate how a business should be run. As you can tell, I miss Jim's.

DESCRIPTION: There is nothing better than a tudor's biscuit. There is no one out there who can compete, truely. I have not been able to find anything anywhere that it quite like it. They have the largest biscuits I have ever seen. You have so many choices of what to have on your biscuit that the combinations go on and on. They have more on the menu than just biscuits though. How do you review the food when you never get it?
DESCRIPTION: Went inside the Tudor's Biscuit World (@ Robert C. Byrd Dr. & S. Oakwood Ave. I Beckey, WV) at 12:30 pm. There was not a crowd and there were no orders ahead of me. At 12:56 pm (after 2 drive thru orders were taken and filled AND 3 eat in orders were taken and 2 of them filled) I had not had my order filled so I asked for my money back. I was given a refund but they never asked why - they never said why there was a delay - and they never said they were sorry for the delay. DESCRIPTION: It was a different kind of place I have never seen before. I stopped in while going through Fayetteville and everyone there was really nice to me I ordered biscuits and gravy and I have not had gravy like that since my mother made it for me has a child and the biscuit were twice the size has I have ever seen I will travel route 19 more often just to stop there cause if the breakfast was so good I can only imagine what the dinner could be like I want to try their pinto beans and cornbread the next time I travel through..

DESCRIPTION: This is more of an American Mexican restaurant than a traditional/authentic one. The food is great though. They have a variety of food, I have tried almost all of it. It can be a nice place to grab a quick bite to eat or sit back and enjoy some margaritas (try the bad juan). You really can't go wrong when you order. The only downfall could be with the open kitchen, you truely smell like you ate at Chilli Willie's when you leave.

DESCRIPTION: Had mixed feelings about the main manager, a very upsetting red head with a horrid temper. Several younger women, during the morning shift, were not wearing their appropriate attire, ie. hats. I was served by a young woman with unruly brown hair, curls everywhere, she neither wore her hair pulled back nor in a hat. Saw several employees in the back serving my food with either no gloves, or ones that had obviously been worn for a long time(holes and tears) please change them for crying out loud!! DESCRIPTION: That's so hilarious...I came to say my peace with the same place, and you practically spoke my mind for me. I dealt with a hot temepered manager as well, just about every time I've been there. Either extremely grouchy, or totally withdrawn. Service with a smile? Ever heard of such a thing? And their fries are always bad. I don't think they change them when business is slow.

An oasis in a chain/fast food wilderness
DESCRIPTION: We stopped in Morgantown on our way to Indiana , and were delighted to find the Blue Moose. When we asked at the hotel for a local breakfast cafe, the clerk referred us to ' Bob Evans'. So we wandered the incredibly beautiful town until we smelled real coffee. The breafast menu is hearty, the coffee devine, and I'm in love with all the waitresses!

DESCRIPTION: I second all of the praises above. But I would like to add that the Blue Moose is the place to get concert tickets for the Rosewood Theatre before they go on sale online. This is great because there is no service charge like when you buy online and you are less likely to get shut out by buying early. Awesome! AND, they have WIFI access there now. Very cool.

Food not as good as Golden Corral
DESCRIPTION: Ryan's food is not as good as Golden Corral, vegetables always taste soggy and tasteless. I do like the desert bar though it is better than Golden Corral. Hope they try harder because my husband like to go here for the all you can eat steak!
