Great All Around
DESCRIPTION: All of the food that I have had has been excellent, not just a steak thrown on the grill, but seasoned just right. Nice upscale atmosphere, rich decor, great service, a large lounge - no entertainment - sports bar.

The Midcoast is going to miss Dave's
DESCRIPTION: It is difficult to think of an economical family restaurant close to Rockland these days. We're going to miss Dave's Restaurant. There is very little of the building left at this point. The property was sold and it has been torn down by the new owners. My rating, unfortunately, relates to when we were able to eat there.

Wonderful Experience
DESCRIPTION: The restaurant was very cozy, romantically lit with soft music playing in the background. The wait staff was fantastic - prompt, quick to refill drinks and answered our questions (we even found out that our picture might be in Gourmet Magazine in May!) The food was WONDERFUL.

DESCRIPTION: My dinning experience at The Old Post Office was an incredible experience. I had been told it was good. It surpassed all my expectations. Who expected such a superior restaurant in such a rural area? One of the best restaurants anywhere in the country in my oppinion.

DESCRIPTION: The Old Post Office IS Great! I grew up in Edisto, SC and have been there many times! A favorite of mine is the Shrimp and Grits and of course the salads are amazing! David Greset owns it well I'm not sure how to spell his name!

One of Princeton's Best
DESCRIPTION: This is THE place in the Princeton area for great seafood. The preparation is simple, flavorful, and elegant. It's all about the fish... no heavy or strongly flavored sauces to hide the fresh flavors. There is a "regular" menu, and an even longer "specials" menu which changes almost daily, depending on what type of seafood is available at the moment. Service is friendly and knowledgeable (we noticed that they have basically the same waitstaff since it opened).

Ugh, they don't know how to cook Seafood.
DESCRIPTION: Passing by daily, I was curious to see why the Grill was always jampacked with customers. So I made a reservation one night, and had to wait 30 minutes. I was eagerly anticipating the food, but was sorely disappointed. The service was fine, but considering the prices charged, the food was very mediocre. They certainly sound very tantalizing on the menu, but aren't so great afterwards. For instance, the starting bread slices they serve are cold. Secondly, I ordered a grilled black bass. That was also served cold. Thirdly, none of the dishes have any sauces. They're served plain, grilled (or deep fried), with just a lemon, cole slaw, and potato. Hello, what about sauces? I was expecting more. On the plus side, their brussel sprouts were very well cooked, and tender.

It's an Applebee s
DESCRIPTION: Service was good but a bit slow. Food was good. It's a typical Applebee's. Newly opened it looks busy but on my visit it was not as crowded as I would have expected. We did not have to wait for a table, one reason I usually avoid Applebee's. There were a few kids which seemed to like to make a lot of noise while the parents just ignored them. One waitress at least tried to keep them entertained, so guess you could say it is kid friendly. My dining pleasures are not listening to screaming kids, not mine, or anybody else's. I will not exclude this Applebee's from my places to eat, it just won't be frequent and it will be later in the evening.

Terrible service
DESCRIPTION: When my wife and I went there it took FOREVER to get water. No refills ever came. Our waitress disappeared for over half an hour, while others around us were waited on. Bringing our food to the table was the last time we saw her. My burger was not hot, and I never got anyone to do anything about it. I won't be back.

A Special Occasion Spot
DESCRIPTION: If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion and don't mind spending a wad of cash, Philander's is for you. The food is fantanstic, as is the service. There is often live piano music. The only bad thing about the place is that the noise level is really high if you are sitting near the bar and it's difficult to carry on a conversation.

This area's finest!!!
DESCRIPTION: Cafe Elise was great with my "last minute" request to cater a small holiday gathering - even down to the packaging of all the food to go!! The food was delicious. The soup -- superb!!!! The tomazzo salad was wonderful. The wine selection was perfect. The entrees were excellent and the desserts: c'est magnifique. More recently, the salmon mousse tarlets that were prepared for a wedding shower were also fabulous.
