Spectacular View
DESCRIPTION: My parents and I rent a condo in Newport at least once a year, and we always make time for Georgies. Standard American breakfasts are quite good and reasonably priced. They are also kid friendly. The wait staff is attentive and the view of the ocean is spectacular. Last year we had dinner at Georgies and were quite impressed. Would definitely recommend Georgies to all.

Fabulous Food, Ocean View, Reasonable Prices
DESCRIPTION: It seems like all "finds" like this are the result of luck. We were looking for a place with an ocean view for supper, cruising a beachfront street when my daughter said "turn here". She saw the ocean thru the glass doors, the generous parking, and the understated, slightly "50's" facade. The patrons leaving were carrying boxes, indicating generous portions. Upon entering we noticed there was a small bar adjacent to the dining area. Though we didn't have cocktails, that isn't always the case, and the option was there. Though it was early, it had most of the window seats occupied which are fully half of the available seating. We were shown to the best seat in the house, at a bend in the front wall which gave 2 views of the ocean and the Yaquina Point lighthouse to the north. The wine list was more than adequate, with varietals, both red and white, from $19 to the upper $20's. By the glass was $5 to $6 for open bottles offered. A good selection for a restaraunt of this size. The bread was fresh and delicious with a thick and chewy crust, not crunchy. Served with real butter at room temp. Nice start. The menu featured a lot of conventional dishes with an emphasis on seafood. The appetizer's offered were not too expensive, though my timid dining partners prevented me from ordering the calamari. The clam chowder (a required ritual ) was excellent. Big clam bits, not too salty, good portions. I had a soup featuring sun dried tomato's in a thick, slightly bright or sour base, with bits of fresh fish. Wonderfully new and different. Highly recommended. The main course dishes were served with fresh steamed vegetables in adequate portions, and either a wild rice mixture or roast garlic mashed potatos or a baker. All done well. My wife had Halibut, very fresh, well cooked though not seasoned. Au natural if you will. My daughter had shrimp tempura which came with noodles alfredo. The sauce with the tempura was quite tasty, obviously their own creation. I had simply the best cioppino in memory. Garnished with fresh clams and mussels, it was almost all meat. None of the potato filling so common these days. The various fish were very fresh, moist and thoroughly delicious. I'm ashamed to admit, I finished it. It came with garlic toast which wasn't as good as the house bread. They won't sell much dessert with dishes like these.

Outstandin
DESCRIPTION: Old fashion style food, go after luch time aroud 2 o'clock, order what you want its sure to be different......and good. Milkshakes are outstanding. Service is great. But don't expect too much its only a little place. You will have to wait if its busy but its worth it.
