Cantina Bouncers Go on Power Trip
DESCRIPTION: Cantina Del Cabo is cool on the inside only because of the people. The bouncers are always on a power trip. They kick people out of the sidewalk just for standing there a few minutes after Cantina has already done last call (literarily like 2 minutes). I'm sure they are trying to be responsible and do their duty but that does not mean they can disrespect their customers and kick people off the sidewalk. The sidewalk is not the property of Cantina Del Cabo and we have the right to stand where ever we want, whether we may be drunk or not. If we are drunk, that is for the cops to decide and not the bouncers of Cantina to tell us to stand over on the corner. We are not kindergarteners who need a time out. Yes, I realize that they have a liability to make sure that your customers are not belligerently drunk but I think the motives of the bouncers are very wrong and they need to be reassessed. I think they need to be taught to respect their customers and learn to handle their duties with the utmost respect. I do not deny that dealing with people who may be under the influence may be difficult but that does not mean they can disrespect the other customers. Respect is a very inmportant aspect that builds clientele and should be an issue that is addressed during traing of the bouncers. A former Cantina Del Cabo Customer.

DESCRIPTION: Late on an April 2003 afternoon, staff seemed unclear about whether the restaurant was open or not. A reluctant waiter announced we couldn't order dinner and only reluctantly disclosed that it was possible to order from the pub menu. By the time he returned, dinner season had opened. The special, a meatloaf concoction in lemon caper sauce, resembled in both appearance and taste the entries in James Lileks' Gallery of Regrettable Food. The mashed potatoes, however, were excellent, and the beer was outstanding. My recommendation: Drink more beer and skip the dinner menu.

Beer 8: Food 3.
DESCRIPTION: The food here is disappointing. I swear that some of their sauces are actually prepared from mixes! A good place to rent out for parties, if you're so inclined, but don't go there for dinner. The beer is fine. Supposedly there are some Germans in the ownership, but if that's so, they need to pay as much attention to the kitchen as they do to the brewery. I love German food, but this is not the place to get it.
