Warm and Cozy
DESCRIPTION: The entrance of Sage makes a big impact. You walk across a covered bridge into the restaurant. You sit by a fire all winter long while waiting for your table. It s a nice place to sit and drink a glass of wine and chat with friends. The general ambiance is warm and cozy. It is a nice place to take friends that are not adventurous with food. The presentation of the food is nothing special, but has a nice taste and is worth the price of the meal. The steak and chicken dishes that I ve had were very nice; however, my husband had some really bad shellfish. The service has always been efficient, and up to par.

poor customer service
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I visited our local Applebees for lunch on 8-22-03. It was about 1 pm and the dining room was clearing out. there were approximately 3 other customer that had not recieved their food as of yet, other than us. It took damn near 40 minutes for our food. I am a former employee of Applebees, a cook to be exact. I know that what we order takes at longest 6-7 minutes to prepare. He ordered the CFC and I ordered the ckn broc alfr now I understand a 15-20 minute wait but over half an hour! Then when our food finally arrived the alfredo was dry!! I mean really dry as if there was no alfredo on there at all. I know there should be about 3oz alfredo and about 8oz noodles but I doubt that I had adequate amount of either. His CFC was okay though. Well other than the fact that he ordered no vegetables and mashers instead, he got veggies!! So not only did it take forever in the making it was wrong too. So, I politely asked for more alfredo explaining to the waitress that it was so dry and a side of mashers to correct the veggie problem blowing the problem off to understaffing or something, however, we never recieved the mashers and the additional alfredo cost me a dollar!! What? They didn't put 3 oz on to begin with, nor were there 8oz of noodles. I never got to speak to a manager and I never saw a manager. Are they not supposed to do table rounds anymore? I was horribly dissatisfied and I won't be back!!!!

Poorest Service in Town
DESCRIPTION: Went to Applebees on Broad Street in Sumter, SC. First confusion was two different waitresses assigned to table. Finally one waitress took drink order (1 beer, 1 wine) which took 10 minutes to fulfill. She thought we had already ordered and had to explain to her that we hadn't. Kept apologizing instead of getting order straight. Ordered food (specially advertised "Baby back ribs."). After 35 minutes asked what delay was. Think she forgot to put order in. Manager (or Asst. manager) confused and could hardly speak intelligently. He didn't seem particularly concerned about confused wait staff. Finally paid for drinks and walked out. Cannot rate food because WE WERE NEVER SERVED! Have been to other Applebees (NC, FL, VA.) and have never had such poor service. Suggest someone from Applebees management visit this location to get them straightened out.

Excellent Wings!
DESCRIPTION: I am addicted to their wings! Usually great service and great food...we eat there often! But, don't go there if you're wanting Mexican! The mexican food is not Mexican there.

DESCRIPTION: I went to this Perkins on 4-26-03 and had to ask for a clean class six times before I got a clean glass. The food took over an hour to get and was cold and did not have much taste. The place wasen't busy, there was no reason for the poor service I got. I tried to talk to the manager Marie, and she acted like she was deaf and didn't hear a work I had just said. She then just walked away while I was talking to her.

Average food, Bad Management
DESCRIPTION: Average food, average service and very dirty tap lines for draft beer. GM is rude and disingenuous. I also spoke to the head chef who seemed a bit clueless, but nice enough.

A Solid Value
DESCRIPTION: I'm a regular who works across the street. Clydes consistently gives a good meal and usually good service. happy hour at the bar is a great deal! Clydes kitchen is especially good with vegetables and other fresh local ingredients. The reviewer who dislikes the GM couldn't be more wrong - there is much more of a positive management presence than there used to be a couple of years ago. My only complaint is that it is like a noisy bistro when busy.

Classy bar
DESCRIPTION: Every dish I've had at Clyde's has been great. When I tell friends Clyde's is a bar, I always have to explain "but it's not like a regular bar". The food seems upscale, carefully planned and executed. From the *real* buffalo wings as an appetizer, to the *real* maple syrup with french toast at brunch, to the creative dishes like fried goat cheese salad and vidalia onion-cheese tart, I'm always impressed with Clyde's. The service we've received has been very good, very attentive and professional. My one complaint would be about the high noise level in the main room (the one with the view to the lake). It's hard to hold a conversation in there sometimes, although I'm not sure what they couldn't do to alleviate it -- become less popular? The noise level is better in the rooms off to the side of the main one. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for such gourmet food. (Half-price wine night was a hit with us.) I'm often conflicted about what to wear to Clyde's; on one hand, it's a bar, and not an outrageously expensive place. But on the other hand, the food seems upscale and people often come dressed in suits and dresses.

Good all around, BAD management
DESCRIPTION: Clyde's really is an "American Cafe." And by that I mean usually good sometimes average food, sometimes exceptional service (sometimes rather mediocre), and a GM who will bend over backwards to kiss up to his "regulars" but will only do just enough to cover his own butt. Great waterfront location though.
