mouth-watering cuisine
DESCRIPTION: I don't get into the city very often, but I make a point of meeting people in this neighborhood when I do, because everyone I bring enjoys this place. It is just exotic enough to be interesting, but not overwhelming for people who might be averse to the unusual. That goes for the food as well as the atmosphere. The service is also "just right" -- they don't hover and they don't ignore you -- they just show up when you need something. And take my advice get to know the owners because they will make you look good. They will remember you next time you come in and treat you well. :-)

DESCRIPTION: this family restaurant has been around for about 7 years. Im telling you, this place is awesome. the service, food, and atmosphere are great. I am in the real estate business and bring all my clients. the casual friendly enviornment really makes everyone feel at easy. I highly recommend the boneless chicken kabob...its the best chicken I've ever had. i don't have to say much, but once you go there, you'll know exactly what i mean.

Mouse in Pamir Restaurant
DESCRIPTION: We dined at this restaurant on 10/25/2004 with my family. The service was too slow but the food was good. We were almost at the end of our entrees when I saw something passing by, and I said "It can't be". A mouse! This time my daughter and my husband saw it too. I was almost throwing up so I ran outside. My husband and my daughter stayed inside to pay the check, and they told the owner in a polite and quite way that there is a mouse in their restaurant. His reply was "Oh, it is the owner checking the food!" Do I need to write more?

DESCRIPTION: We have dined at Pamir a number if times, and each experience was pleasant. We are never rushed and the tables are nicely spaced so conversation is possible. The food is always good.

Wonderful Food, Friendly Service
DESCRIPTION: I have dined at Pamir about seven or eight times now, and each time the food has been wonderful. The service is always abundantly friendly and warm. Also, there are many vegetarian dishes available which is a plus for me. Overall, a great place to take your family or a date for delicious ethnic food.

Consistenly terrific Afghan food!
DESCRIPTION: So many restaurants come and go in Bethesda. I am always relieved, when I get a hankering for Afghan food, to find that Faryab is still open for businesss. The food is consistently delicious and the setting is tranquil. I rarely deviate from my favorite dishes: Kadu (sauteed pumpkin) appetizer, salad with yogurt dressing, Aushak and Goash-e-feel (elephant ear) dessert. But dining companions have been well pleased with other menu options.

DESCRIPTION: I regularly eat at Mardi Gras for lunch. Free parking in a lot just across the street makes this very accessible during the day. Greek dishes, fish, daily specials are all good and plentiful.

Quiet--and Delicious Food, too!
DESCRIPTION: May dad and I went to Kabul to be supportive of Afghan people in our area. What a treat this restaurant is. The atmosphere was quiet, so nice after so many loud places these days. We ordered the lamb kabobs and got plates heaped with fluffy rice, two kabobs of very tender lamb mixed with peppars, onions and tomatoes, and a strip of flatbread. The food was hot and the scent, inticing. It was more than we could actually eat and have room for ice cream. The bowl was enough for two, so we asked for another and split the sweet dessert, which was made with rosewater, unusual and tasty. The service was never intrusive and the whole meal was a delightful experience.

A Favorite!
DESCRIPTION: I've been going to both locations of Kabul for many years, and have never had a bad meal. Whether I'm in the mood for something exotic like the stewed pumpkin w/meat sauce, or a traditional kebab, the food is delish. I've introduced many friends and coworkers to Kabul and they now love it, too. It's a great place to share appetizers and main dishes, as the food is plentiful. The service is elegant and efficient, and the ambience is serene. The wine list is decent, and the unusual desserts are nice change from other places. I love the pudding w/a cup of strong coffee for a differnt after dinner treat. I think Kabul is a warm, classy change from the norm, without flash and concept, but with very good food that's affordable and consistently exotic.

Not a pretty setting, but a great Afghan restaurant
DESCRIPTION: Once you get by the less than spectaculor setting for the restaurant, you will find that the food and service are very good -- and a real bargain! The food is quite good, authentic Afghan cuisine. You will find all types of people there -- Aghanis, business people, young couples, etc. The staff is friendly, efficient and eager to please. The menu ranges from exceptional appetizers to delightful Afghan entrees. Try the delicious chicken kebab dish -- tender, flavorful chicken kebabs with Afghan rice and huge pieces of Afghan bread.
